The Junior Development Manager will be responsible for the delivery of a wide range of Development tasks including costs, quality control and project design. This position will work closely with our Development Director and Operations Teams and will be based in Madrid.

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Work with the internal and external teams to ensure the development and coordination of cost and quality control procedures, prepare and complete project design concept, a construction budget and building plans in accordance to approved scope of work and program.
  • Support in preparing marketing data required for the investment memorandums providing insight on the proposed projects including various related detailed pro-forma budgets and feasibility studies.
  • Project management and on-going communications within the development team, and other key business leaders affiliated with the project to provide periodic updates on the progress against schedule and budgets, surfaces and resolves issues that may compromise the project delivery schedule or costs, and responds quickly and with urgency to questions, concerns, and requests for information.
  • Work closely with the operational management team to finalize budgets and project design plans, accepts units from construction on behalf of Owner and ensures all aspects of the project adhere to Company development standards, templates and quality level.
Your Profile:
  • Good knowledge of building regulations, technical building specifications, planning application processes and construction processes for Spain
  • Strong commercial project management experience in Real Estate, Design and Construction; including demonstrated ability to oversee the entire life cycle of the development process and to complete development projects
  • Demonstrated experience estimating projects, negotiating fees, and building and managing budgets and schedules.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts and experience of managing client actions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English and Spanish); including the ability to effectively write and present reports and information.
  • Strong numeracy skills; including the ability to manage and maintain accurate cash flow information and to complete financial records, budgets, and other fiscal reporting information.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-management skills in order to establish, cultivate, and maintain productive relationships with construction companies, developers and the variety of suppliers as well as potential clients with whom Greystar does business; communicate with tact and diplomacy, and influence with impact at all levels.
  • Resourcefulness to manage vendor and local developer / general contractor and internal counterpart relationships
  • Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to effectively track, report, and manage multiple projects and priorities where meeting deadlines is critical.
